One thing I decided needed to be done before #4 is born was to replace the aplix and elastic in some of my cloth diapers. Now, I know how to sew and I do own a sewing machine, I'm just not that great at sewing. I can do the basics so I thought, "No problem. I can do this." I ripped the seams, got all the pieces out from the bumGenius refresher kit (you can buy them online where you buy cloth diapers), and I went to work. I first sewed on the new hook and loop closure tabs, done. Next I sewed on new laundry tabs, done. Finally, I checked to make sure they worked and...what the heck!? No way! One laundry tab didn't work! How could this be? It was a simple laundry tab. I looked closer and it looked like one tab was different from the other. How could the retailer send me a wrong piece? I went to the computer to send them an email right away, which wasn't on, so instead I went to my husband to vent. I began to tell him the story and before I finished or even showed him the diaper he said, "What, did you sew one on backwards?" Oops. Good thing the computer wasn't on.
Well, I did end up finishing the diaper and even replaced the elastic figuring that "Baby Brother" - that's what we call #4 since we can't decide on a name - would have smaller thighs than his older sister. It wasn't all that hard and it didn't turn out so bad.
The top diaper has the elastic replaced and the bottom diaper still needs to be done. Look at the difference in the leg opening.
Check out my new laundry and closure tabs on the green diaper. See how the white diaper has a curling closure tab and gross laundry tab. I hate it when the laundry tab doesn't work anymore!
I am quite proud of what I have accomplished with my basic and minimal sewing skills. Check one thing off my to do list!

Nesting?
I am six months pregnant with baby #4 and every time I do anything at all that involves organizing or cleaning or whatever really, my husband says, "Oh look, you're nesting again." Well I disagree!
So things do get dirty and yeah I'm usually the one who does the cleaning.
Yes, I try to be organized but how else am I going to stay sane living in a three bedroom house with almost four kids?
Why does it bother me that he refers to everyday tasks as "nesting"? I have no idea, at least he noticed I cleaned!

Is it just me?
So my kids love to work their Momma. Let me explain.
My four year old son goes to preschool three days a week. I drop him off most of the time. Today he didn't want to go, just because. So when we got to school he would not let me leave and he started to cry, not sobbing but there were tears. The teacher finally had to hold him so he wouldn't run after me when I left. When I picked him up after preschool was over I asked the teacher how the rest of his day went. "Oh fine. He was good after you left." Of course he was (he has done this a couple of times before). He was just workin Momma!
Then there is my 18 month old daughter. She LOVES to work Momma. One example is bed time. It seems that every night my little girl tries to work me at bed time. She always knows when its bed time too. She gives hugs and kisses to Daddy, says night night, I pick her up, and - bam - here comes the tears and crying. Every - single - night.
Why do they always test, push, or try and work me? Do they ever do that with Daddy? Nope!
Me and my Shadow
So I currently have three children ages 6, 4 and 18 months with number four due in April. The youngest got a cold over the holidays thanks to a germ sharing relative who couldn't stay home at Christmas - no hard feelings, right? So lately my days consist of Baby Girl walking/leading me around the house holding my finger saying "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy ..."and my nights consist of a squirmy, snotty Baby Girl trying to cuddle with me. You can imagine how much fun that is! I have enough trouble sleeping at night without another body trying to use me as a pillow but at least she is almost over this cold.
So for now my shadow is not always behind me and kinda vocal. At least my shadow is cute!
Motivation!
So I have been procrastinating a lot when it comes to adding my first post to my blog. Life with three kids can be kinda crazy and then the holidays came. Then the other day I got an email that I was the featured blog on a website. My first thought was "Oh yeah, I have a blog" and my second thought was "I guess that means I should post something."
